City ordinance requires that all residential and business alarms systems be registered with the Police Department to minimize and manage false alarms. There is no fee for an alarm permit if it is applied for within 10 days of installation or conversion of the alarm system. A late fee of $25.00 will be charged if an alarm user does not obtain a permit within those 10 days. For more information, call 913-573-6109.
Fingerprint services are offered through Wyandotte County Sheriff's Office in the Offender Registration Unit, located on the mezzanine level of the Wyandotte County Courthouse at 710 N. 7th St. Appointments are recommended and available to schedule Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm. A person seeking issuance of a parade permit shall file an application with the Chief of Police at least 30 days prior to the parade event. Please refer to the Parade Ordinance for more information.
A standard 'drive out' release is issued when the owner can provide proof of ownership (ie, title, state registration, bill of sale, or loan installment agreement), proof of insurance and a valid driver's license. A 'tow out' release is issued when the owner has expired registration, no registration, or no insurance. For more information, please call the Auto Release desk at 913-573-6065.
KCKPD uses three towing services depending on where the vehicle was towed from. All companies are open Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Security guard applicants must appear in person at police headquarters in order to submit a permit application. The applicant must also provide a letter from a licensed security company attesting that the applicant is to be employed at that firm as a private security officer.
